Sun Valley Resort has delayed its opening day to an uncertain date because recent warm, dry weather has so far prevented snowmaking crews from making enough snow to open.
The resort was scheduled to kick off its 90th season on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27.
In a statement Thursday, Nov. 20, Pete Sonntag, Sun Valley Resort's Chief Operating Officer, said, "At this time, the weather forecast hints at colder temperatures and a return to snowmaking later this weekend into early next week."
"Our teams are working as hard as possible to open as soon as conditions allow, and we will update you as we make progress toward opening," he said.
