KANSAS CITY, Kan. —

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department has released the identity of a man killed when a speeding vehicle plunged off of a bridge early Saturday.

Investigators were called to the 300 block of North James Street just after midnight Saturday to investigate a single-vehicle crash in the area. Advertisement

Police determined the vehicle, which had been northbound on James Street, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control at the curve and went over the bridge.

Two people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Police said one person was rushed to an area hospital in serious condition, however, their vitals were stable. Another person was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Thursday police identified the victim as 32-year-old Antonio Ruti
