ALLEN PARK -- Terrion Arnold and Kerby Joseph are still not back practicing for the Detroit Lions.

Arnold (concussion) and Joseph (knee) were the lone absences from Thursday’s practice.

Joseph has missed the team’s last four games while dealing with a lingering knee injury. The All-Pro safety is said to be improving, but Dan Campbell didn’t sound optimistic about his status this week against the New York Giants. It is trending toward another week of Thomas Harper and Brian Branch as the team’s top safeties.

Harper has done an admirable job filling in for Jopseh through the last month or so. Pro Football Focus ranks him as the 18th-best safety, and he’s sporting strong all-around marks in coverage and in run defense. He’s allowed only four catches for 45 yards on seven targets in coverag
