KENT COUNTY, MI - The Grand Rapids area is eager to ring in the holiday season by preparing to brighten up neighborhoods with Christmas lights this month.
Festivities begin with downtown Grand Rapids’ annual tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 22, between Monroe Avenue NW and Ottawa Avenue NW.
There will be free hot chocolate, coffee, ice cream treats, arts and crafts, books from Grand Rapids Public Library, and a photoshoot with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The city’s annual Santa Parade is also scheduled on the same day .
