FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — Part of a popular northern Arizona ski resort is opening a little early, thanks to recent snowfall.
The Arizona Snowbowl opened at noon on Thursday, the day before its originally scheduled opening day. The announcement was made after the resort said 37 inches of snow fell across the area over a five-day period.
Guest services at the Hart Prairie Lodge, rentals and the Agassiz Lodge Pro shop opened at 11:30 a.m., while the Agassiz Lodge Restaurant and Bar opened at noon.
But it’s not the whole resort that’s opening early. The Arizona Gondola is open until 4 p.m. on Thursday, but is currently only offering access to the following advanced trails:
Spur Catwalk
Frontier
Lower Bowl
Logjam
Wild Turkey
Round Up
