SHENANDOAH JUNCTION - The regular season meeting between No. 4 Jefferson and No. 5 George Washington had one of the craziest finishes of the year.
In that game, a 34-33 win by the Cougars, Jefferson built a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, only to have the Patriots rally late in the game. George Washington, instead of kicking the game-tying field goal, went for the two-point conversion and the win but came up short, as Jefferson made a goal-line stand to maintain the lead and hold on for the win.
That game came in Week 7, with a good portion of the season remaining. When the two teams meet tonight - one of three games featuring local teams this weekend, including No. 6 Wheeling Park at No. 3 Martinsburg and No. 8 Spring Mills at No. 1 Morgantown - one team will stay alive in the post
