SUQUAMISH -- Access to the boat launch in Suquamish is restricted this winter and parking limited near the public pier that extends into Agate Passage near the Suquamish Tribe's House of Awakened Culture, for a Kitsap County project intended to improve water quality.
The parking lot just off where Suquamish Way and Augusta Avenue come together in the small commercial district is currently limited to just a few street parking spots near Sully's Bistro and Bar. A massive metal and concrete structure is visible, but by next spring Kitsap County Public Works anticipates the lot to be repaved, with improvements. Some will be visible, like sidewalks, a median and manhole covers, but the majority of the ongoing $4.3 million project will make an unseen impact.
