Police say they are working to identify a pedestrian who was killed while walking on I-95 during the busy morning commute after four vehicles struck the person, and three of the drivers kept going.
The crash was reported at 6:24 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, on I-95 North just before Exit 6 in Stamford. Police do not know why the pedestrian was walking on the interstate.
Connecticut State Police said the first vehicle struck the pedestrian, throwing the person onto the left side of the highway. Two more vehicles hit the pedestrian soon after. None of them stopped.
A fourth vehicle hit the pedestrian while changing lanes. The impact disabled the car, and the driver remained at the scene, State Police said.
Police have been unable to identify the pedestrian and do not know the drivers in the first three vehicles.
Investigators are asking anyone with information or dash camera footage from 6:10 to 6:25 a.m. in that area to contact Troop G at 203-696-2500 or Trooper Janinna Bonilla at janinna.bonilla@ct.gov.
