TAMPA, Fla. — The University of South Florida is working to identify the people seen in a social media video harassing a group of Muslim students.
The incident happened Tuesday morning as the students were praying at dawn on the top floor of a campus parking garage.
The USF Muslim Student Association posted the video to social media. In it, three men can be seen and heard harassing the students.
The man shouted obscenities at them, called them terrorists and offered them bacon, which is forbidden in the Muslim faith.
One of the men insulted the founder of Islam and spat in front of the praying group of students.
USF says university police are investigating and that the school will likely refer the case to Hillsborough State Attorney Suzy Lopez.
The school released a statement saying,
