A Dauphin County murder trial was delayed by a day following an incident at the county prison early Wednesday morning.
“Limited force” was used against defendant Erick Boone after he “failed to follow” staff directives, said a statement released to PennLive by Dauphin County Commissioner Justin Douglas.
Boone was later evaluated and cleared by medical staff, Douglas said. No staff injuries were reported, he said.
No further information on the nature of the incident was immediately available.
The Dauphin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Boone was transported to the courthouse Wednesday morning before being returned to the prison.
Boone is accused of beating, robbing, and later murdering Dewayne Brown, 43, of Huntingdon. His trial on murder and robbery charges began Monday afternoon
