FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - November is National Adoption Month.

To celebrate, Allen Superior Court designated November 20, 2025, as ‘Adoption Day’, a special day to honor adoptive families.

Through the collaboration of the court’s Family Relations Division, the Allen County Department of Child Services, and various local agencies, 33 families in Allen County celebrated the adoption of 48 children on Thursday.

Ceremonies began at 9 a.m. at the Allen County Courthouse.

Judge Lori K. Morgan says National Adoption Day was initially observed in Allen County in 2007. It was the first community in the state to do so.

The celebration now marks its 18th year.
