Evan Rankin, a forward who became affectionately known as “Mr. Walleye” in his five seasons with Toledo’s pro hockey team, has earned his place in the Toledo Hockey Hall of Fame.
Rankin, who ranks third in all-time games played (238) in Toledo Walleye history, is the newest member of the seventh class of the city’s pro hockey hall of fame.
When he retired in 2017, Rankin was the Walleye’s all-time leading goal scorer with 111.
The Portage, Mich., native was part of the Walleye’s inaugural season in 2009-10. On Thursday, the organization announced his induction into the hall of fame.
