Eastpointe will welcome a new city manager just in time for the holidays.
Ryan Madis, currently Flint’s economic development program manager, will begin his new role on Nov. 30.
According to city attorney Richard Albright, Madis has accepted contract changes, including four weeks of paid time off and a $30,000 relocation allowance if he moves to Eastpointe. His annual salary will be $140,000.
Mayor Michael Klinefelt expressed enthusiasm about Madis joining the city hall team.
“I think, if you haven’t seen our interviews, I think you’ll be impressed when he arrives and begins working with the city,” Klinefelt said.
In other news, Eastpointe could save $130,000 each year by bringing parks maintenance staff back under city management.
