U.S. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan signed onto a bipartisan letter pushing the Trump Administration to release funding from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program as quickly as possible.
In New Hampshire, the Department of Energy said the fuel assistance program is operating normally and has been able to manage funding.
More than 57,000 Granite Staters rely on LIHEAP to pay their heating bills. But Shaheen and Hassan said the Trump Administration needs to get the money flowing to states immediately.
