It's hard to go through a 12-game season undefeated, especially carrying that momentum the postseason.

Macon East football took this challenge head on, capping off its perfect season with an AISA Class A state championship win. The Knights defeated Escambia 34-14 on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Cramton Bowl.

Macon East went up by three scores early in the third quarter, putting Escambia in a hole that it could not dig itself out of. The Knights had a firm control of the game in all three phases, forcing Escambia to play nearly perfect.
