The AFL’s newest rivalry went up a gear during the second night of the draft when St Kilda finally entered the picture.
The Saints did not have pick on the opening night, with its first selection coming at Pick 41 on Thursday where they pounced on Charlie Banfield, the son of West Coast great and dual premiership player Drew Banfield.
Much to the dismay of fans, West Coast were out of list spots and unable to match the bid, which allowed Charlie to officially join the Saints.
Meanwhile, over at the GWS Giants, they watched on with interest.
The relationship between the Giants and St Kilda became awkward during the trade period . St Kilda had an offer on the table for GWS defender Leek Aleer and he was set to join them, only for the Saints to pull out at the last minute , shat
