VILLA GROVE, Ill. (WAND) - A man in Villa Grove was arrested for attempted murder after reportedly attacking another man with a machete.

According to Douglas County charging documents, Cristian Escobar was said to have struck another man with a machete on Nov. 19.

The documents stated that the man had suffered deep cuts to his arm and an injury to his head, along with "extensive" blood loss.

Escobar was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated battery.

No court date has been set for Escobar at this time.
