PALM COAST, Fla. – After months of discussion, the Palm Coast City Council has officially approved a change to its parking ordinance that will now allow certain work trucks to be parked long-term in residential driveways. The decision has drawn mixed reactions from residents across the city.

The issue has been on the council’s agenda since January, when a resident raised concerns that the previous regulations were “burdensome” for working families. Under the updated ordinance , homeowners will now be permitted to park one work truck in their driveway, as long as it does not exceed 20 feet in length and 9 feet in height.

Some residents say the change makes sense for a city with a growing number of skilled trade workers.
