LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Ahead of several upcoming elections here in Kentucky, the Interim Jefferson County clerk is inspecting the voting equipment.

County Clerk David Yates and Interim Sheriff David James visited the county’s Clerk’s Office Election Center ahead of the upcoming special election to replace Yates’ vacant Senate seat on December 16.

The clerk previously represented Kentucky’s 37th district.

“We take this very, very serious,” Yates said. “We’re going to make sure that the elections go off without a hitch, that every vote is counted accurately, and you can be assured that these machines are going to do what they’re supposed to do.”
