LORDSTOWN, Ohio - Reuters is reporting that Japanese company Softbank is planning to invest $3 billion into the Foxconn electric vehicle plant in Lordstown, citing The Information as its source.
This is the latest development in Foxconn's partnership with SoftBank, which was first announced in August of 2025 when SoftBank bought the former GM Lordstown plant.
In September of 2025, it was announced that the former GM plant would be part of a $500 billion project that would see the construction of five new AI data centers across the country.
