This time, it didn’t come down to blind luck.

Kelowna city councillor Loyal Wooldridge is back in charge of the Central Okanagan Regional District’s board of directors.

Wooldridge was elected Thursday in an 8 to 4 vote over Peachland Mayor Patrick Van Minsel among the 12 board members, who represent the municipalities of Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country, Peachland, and two rural areas.

The job comes with a salary of $51,000, in addition to the $58,000 Wooldridge earns as a Kelowna city councillor. It’s the fourth time Wooldridge has been named board chair since the 2022 civic elections.
