Phillies agree to minor league contract with former Braves, Marlins outfielder
The Philadelphia Phillies and outfielder Bryan De La Cruz agreed to a minor league contract for the 2026 season, which includes an invitation to major league camp at next year's spring training, according to a report earlier this month from Mike Rodriguez on X (formerly Twitter).
De La Cruz turns 29 on December 16 and is an outfield depth signing for the Phillies. The Yankees claimed him off waivers from the Atlanta Braves last May after he played just 16 games with the NL East club.
The corner outfielder played 91 games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after joining the Yankees organization, hitting .271 with 15 home runs and a .796 OPS in 368 plate appearances.
