FARMINGTON -- A Fayetteville man died Thursday as a result of injuries suffered in a head-on collision on Broyles Street near the Farmington Branch Creek bridge, according to a news release from the Farmington Police Department.

Dallas Cox, 30, of Fayetteville, was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center after the crash where he later died from his injuries, according to Lt. Justin Collins with Farmington police.

The collision occurred just before 11 a.m., and according to the preliminary investigation, Cox was traveling southbound on Broyles Street in a Ford F-150 when his vehicle crossed the double yellow centerline and struck a Dodge 2500 traveling northbound, the release states.
