MOBILE, AL -- A second grade teacher who won her school’s “Teacher of the Year” award this year has been charged with felony willful abuse after she allegedly assaulted her son. According to NBC 15 News in Mobile, Alabama, Randi Staples, 44, was charged following an investigation that began when a video of the assault was posted online.
The video shows a woman violently hitting a boy with a belt multiple times in a 15-second span. The woman then picks the boy up by his hair and screams at him while he cries.
The video was taken by one of the boy’s siblings and sent to another sibling who posted it online. The video was only available for a short time before it was deleted. However, the video was
