PITTSBURGH -- After not activating him from injured reserve on Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers officially have lost cornerback Cory Trice for the year. For defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, it is tough to see a player like Trice, who has so much talent, unable to stay healthy.

“Well, it’s really unfortunate and it stinks to see a guy like that get hurt," Austin said. “Cory really works his tail off... Sometimes, there’s a lot of guys who are really capable and talented in this league that don’t make it in this league because of injuries...he’s already back to work plotting his next comeback."

Trice suffered a knee injury in practice three weeks ago. He has not practiced since that moment, and the team did not activate him off injured reserve on Wednesday, thus ending his season
