Former Perth Wildcats star Bryce Cotton will have the chance to play in front of his basketball hero in Western Australia after the NBL signed megastar Allen Iverson as the HoopsFest ambassador.

Fresh from having Carmelo Anthony and Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith in Perth for last season’s HoopsFest extravaganza, the league has signed Iverson to be in WA when every NBL and WNBL team competes from January 15-18.

Cotton has regularly talked about how closely he studied Iverson’s game. Despite standing at only 183cm tall, Iverson became an 11-time NBA All-Star, four-time NBA scoring champion and league MVP.

The American will be at games and also meet with fans throughout the weekend. The prospect of Cotton performing in front of him when Adelaide play South East Melbourne at RAC Arena on January 18
