Daytona Beach City Commissioner Stacy Cantu didn’t hold back during Wednesday night’s commission meeting, where the topic of the city’s purchasing card program once again took center stage.
"I can guarantee you when this audit comes out, you're going to find mistakes, big mistakes, just like you found in the travel audit," Cantu said. "I'm going to keep on doing it, and no one is going to stop me here. You might hate me, and I don’t care, but I'm working for them, and it's what I'm going to keep doing."
Cantu’s remarks came after days of public pressure to conduct an audit of the city’s purchasing card, or P-card, program.
Despite that pressure, some commissioners said the audit should not be an immediate priority.
"I'm all for an audit, but not for him to drop everything he's doing
