It’s crunch time at the Paris Theatre , Old Town Portland’s storied and scandalous soon-to-be burlesque venue.

Crew members have spent the past week putting the final glittering touches on the space, often from behind the theater’s grand velvet curtains. While workers install main floor seating, performers scramble over costumes backstage, bedazzling platform boots and affixing epaulets to vest shoulders — all while rehearsing for the theater’s very first holiday show.
