NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - More vending machines carrying the life-saving drug that can reverse an overdose are popping up in Nashville.
There are now Narcan vending machines at the Exxon on Brick Church Pike and the Tennessee Justice Center on Lafayette Street.
There’s another machine that’s been replaced at the Twice Daily on West End Avenue.
Narcan can reverse the effects of an overdose caused by opioids like fentanyl. So far, the Metro Public Health Department has distributed over 3,100 doses of the drug.
“The annual number of fatal suspected drug overdoses in Davidson County peaked at 725 in 2021 and has declined steadily since then,” the department said.
