CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Operation “Charlotte’s Web,” the immigration operation in the city and surrounding areas, is “ not over, ” according to the Department of Homeland Security.

However, city leaders said on Thursday, Nov. 20, that the federal operation had stopped .

While some economic activity may rebound immediately once enforcement ends, the impact could be felt for some time, especially for businesses that either made the tough decision to close or those that lost employees during the operation, halting their business.

A typical Thursday inside Deluxe Paint and Body Works in Charlotte is busy with sounds of clanking, welding or the buzz of something being lifted, but today the shop is quiet.
