How two Canadians made their Los Cabos resort stand out from the crowd

Building an oceanfront resort in Los Cabos, Mexico was never going to be an option for Vancouverite business partners Cameron Watt and Stuart McPherson.

They didn’t have that kind of dinero.

Still, upon vacationing in the area over Christmas more than a decade ago, they were smitten , and eager to put down business stakes somewhere at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula where the desert meets the sea.

“We just rented a car and spent a few months driving everywhere and looking at all sorts of different possibilities,” said Watt, a 63-year-old hospitality veteran who owns bars and restaurants in Vancouver including The Keefer Bar, June and Giusti.
