FAIRBURY, Neb. (KOLN) — A home is a complete loss after an electrical fire in Fairbury, Wednesday night.

According to Fairbury Rural Fire Chief Judd Stewart, Fairbury Rural Fire and Jansen Rural Fire arrived on scene to a house fire near 7th and J streets around 10:30 p.m.

Chief Stewart said by the time first responders arrived on scene, the house was already 50% involved, with a partial collapse 10 minutes later.

He adds one resident made it out of the house safely and there were no other injuries.

Fairbury Rural Fire determined this incident as an electrical fire that started from a bad wire going to an appliance in the kitchen of the home.
