YOUNGSTOWN - Last year 21 News brought you the story about a family with a relative they say was a victim of quitclaim deed fraud.
Since then, some of his loved ones say he's been a prisoner in his own home while they take legal matters into their own hands.
According to the Mahoning County Auditor's office website , Alvin Walden has been the owner of a home on Ohio Avenue since 1977. That was until 2024, when the property was transferred into LaFay Walden's name via quitclaim deed.
"Once my uncle could no longer drive, once the doctors said he couldn't drive, he spent all the time at the house, and the estranged brother started coming around," said Sheryl Bailey, a niece of Alvin Walden.
Bailey now believes it was part of a plan.
