Wilmington native Nick Wiget juggles announcing gigs for Cincinnati teams

CINCINNATI —

Nick Wiget, a Wilmington native, has built a career as a public address announcer for major sports teams across Ohio, including the Bengals and FC Cincinnati, by consistently saying yes to opportunities.

"I knew how to play several instruments. I sing some," Wiget said.

While attending Wilmington College, Wiget was given the chance to announce at a soccer game, which he eagerly accepted.

"I started to realize very quickly this is instant gratification from the crowd," he said.

This experience led to offers from schools and teams throughout Ohio, including the Blue Jackets, Bengals, Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, and FC
