PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Families who say they were affected by the Davis Mortuary incident have filed a civil lawsuit against Davis Mortuary and Pueblo Masonic Temple.
This comes after 24 bodies, along with several containers of bones and “probable human tissue,” were found inside the funeral home owned by former Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter and his brother Chris Cotter.
The civil lawsuit was filed Thursday on behalf of the families, who say their loved ones’ remains were found inside the mortuary, including Melvin Emerson, Carl Walker and Soledad Cordova.
That lawsuit names Davis Mortuary, owners Brian Cotter and Chris Cotter and the Pueblo Masonic Temple Association, the building which the Cotters reportedly rented the space.
