The Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) is ramping up its condemnation of Keolis Downer by claiming it’s refusing to provide first aid kits on Hunter buses.

That’s despite the French-owned company recently putting a revised offer to local drivers to bring the industrial action to an end.

It’s understood Keolis Downer Hunter (KDH) laid down a wage deal of 15.5% over four years, with an extra 8% over the same period for Year 1 trainers, as part of its latest Enterprise Agreement (EA).

But, the RTBU refused to back down.

In its latest claim, the union’s accused the company of rejecting a basic safety proposal.

The members put forward a simple, commonsense provision during EA bargaining process – a measure that would protect both drivers and the travelling public.
