PHOENIX — Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly is responding after President Donald Trump on Thursday accused a group of Democratic lawmakers of sedition “punishable by DEATH” in a social media post after they posted a video to Facebook urging active military personnel to defy illegal orders.
In the video to the military and intelligence community, lawmakers said, "This administration is pitting our uniformed and intelligence community professionals against American citizens," and "you can refuse illegal orders."
In a post to Truth Social, Trump said, "This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???" He later added, "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!"
