HBO has renewed 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' for a second season, confirming the expansion of the 'Game of Thrones' universe even before the prequel series makes its debut. The show is set to premiere on Jan. 18, 2026, with Season 2 scheduled to arrive in 2027.

The half-hour drama serves as a prequel set about 100 years before the events of 'Game of Thrones' and is based on George R.R. Martin’s beloved 'Tales of Dunk and Egg' novellas. Variety first reported on the project’s development in 2021, and the series was officially greenlit in 2023.
