SOUTH BEND, Ind./ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame men’s and women’s soccer teams both played NCAA Tournament games on Thursday night, with one Irish team pulling off an upset and the other team falling in a stunning defeat.

Notre Dame women drop 2OT heartbreaker

The No. 1 seeded Notre Dame women’s soccer team lost its second-round matchup at home to Ohio State 1-0 in a double-overtime heartbreaker.

With 34 seconds left in the second overtime period, Ohio State’s Jadin Bonham found the back of the net to give the Buckeyes the stunning upset over the Irish, who were one of the favorites to win the title.

Notre Dame ends the season with a 15-2-3 record. Both losses and two of the three ties came within the last six games.
