A number of Coachella Valley eateries were downgraded, closed or investigated this past week, according to reports.
Sammy G's Tuscan Grill in Palm Springs was shut down by inspectors due to a cockroach infestation. The restaurant will be revisited by the health department, where it will have an opportunity to reopen if the facility is free from vermin.
Edoko Sushi in Cathedral City was visited for a foodborne illness investigation. Inspectors noted a few violations, and they will return on Nov. 21 for a reinspection. Additionally, Il Corso in Palm Desert was investigated due to a fire report. Significant damage was observed by inspectors, and a note on the facility states it will be closed until further notice.
