DISABLED workers from Scotland’s largest trade union body have condemned the Labour Government ahead of Rachel Reeves ’s UK Budget statement.
The STUC Disabled Workers’ Committee, the biggest representative body of disabled workers throughout Scotland, have warned ministers that disabled workers aren’t "cannon fodder" as the Chancellor seeks to balance the books.
The workers have also voiced their concerns on any proposed cuts to the welfare budget ahead of the fiscal statement.
A motion, set to be heard at the STUC Disabled Workers’ Conference this weekend, notes the “anger” of disabled workers at the Spring Statement attempt to cut welfare and calls for “resistance and opposition” to any future attempts to cut welfare benefits .
