REDDING, Calif. - The Shasta County District Attorney's Office says that on Wednesday, Toni Renee Hill pled guilty to all arson charges and special allegations on the second day of her jury trial.
Hill was on trial in connection to an arson-related vegetation fire that took place south of the TA Truck Stop on Knighton Road during Red Flag weather conditions.
As a result of the guilty plea, Hill will be sentenced to ten years in state prison. In addition, Hill also forfeited over 800 days in pre-trial custody credits.
The Shasta County District Attorney's Office says the charges stemmed from a fire that was ignited by Hill on October 18, 2024. Authorities say that the fire spread rapidly, leading to the temporary shutdown of Interstate 5 and endangering a nearby school.
