REDDING, Calif. - On Friday, the Shasta County District Attorney's Office released updates on multiple court cases that are ongoing in the Shasta County Superior Court.

On Thursday, Matthew Riddle was held to answer on all charges, including one count of murder with an enhancement for the use of a deadly weapon. The charges are related to a deadly stabbing at a transitional living facility in September. Riddle's arraignment on the information is scheduled for December 4, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. in Department 24.

20-year-old Christian Bennett on Thursday was held to answer on all charges at his preliminary hearing. Bennett is charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated without gross negligence, multiple counts of driving under the influence, and driving without a valid license. Benn
