ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Vandalia community gathered Friday night for a candlelight vigil to remember 14-year-old Kylie Marie Kutz Toberman, one week after investigators found her body in the backyard of her home.

The vigil brought together a couple of hundred people, including members of Kylie’s biological family, like her paternal grandmother, Lisa Richards, and her uncles, Anthony Wise and Daniel Kutz, who were in Kylie’s life when she was young.

“It should have never happened, and right now, we’re seeking justice for Kylie,” Richards said.

Wise said he was grateful to celebrate Kylie’s life at the vigil and that the community was coming together to support her.
