OWYHEE, Nev. (KOLO) - On Thursday, Nov. 20, a federal jury convicted a Duck Valley Indian Reservation resident in Owyhee of witness tampering, according to a news release from First Assistant United States Attorney Sigal Chattah.
The crime happened from Tuesday through Sunday, March 11 to 16, when R.C. Crutcher made attempts to persuade a victim from testifying against him at a federal trial, the release said.
From jail, Crutcher made phone calls to his mother asking her to persuade a victim not to show up for trial so his case would be dismissed, the release said.
Following a four-day trial, Crutcher was found guilty of one count of tampering with a witness.
Crutcher is scheduled for sentencing on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, before United States District Judge Anne R. Traum.
