Monty Don has shared his true feelings of “relief” as BBC Gardeners’ World wraps filming and was pulled off air. The show will pause for a winter break before returning in spring 2026 – but for Monty, it’s a well-earned break after the “pressures” of filming at his Longmeadow garden for the year. In his column for BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine, he admitted it’s a welcome respite for the cameras to stop rolling.
He wrote of his winter gardening projects: “Should we be filming all of this? Probably. I would not mind at all, but there is no doubt that filming would make it all take twice as long, and add a level of scrutiny and pressure that we are happy to do without for a few winter months before the filming circus returns all too quickly next February."
