All Iowans would be well served by reading Art Cullen’s latest book, “Dear Marty, We Crapped in Our Nest.”

He tells a story of rural Iowa with journalistic rigor and keen wit through the eyes of a native son who cares deeply about our state and its people. Tales of his early years are quite familiar to me, as I am four years his junior and grew up in an adjacent county in northwest Iowa during the 1960s and ’70s.
