One of County Durham’s best-known landmarks will be getting into the festive spirit next month when Lumley Castle Hotel hosts its annual Christmas Market.

The 14th-century fortress near Chester-le-Street will open its doors to visitors on Sunday, December 7 (11am–3pm) and again on Wednesday, December 17 (6pm–9pm), offering two opportunities to experience a Christmas event steeped in history and festive atmosphere.

Organisers say this year’s market will feature more than 40 stalls, showcasing an array of handcrafted gifts, decorations, and festive treats from local traders and artisans.
