Kolkata: A 70-year-old man travelling on an Air India flight from Vancouver to Delhi collapsed mid-journey and was later declared dead at a hospital here, The Indian Express reported on Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Dalbir Singh from Delhi, reportedly complained of chest pain and uneasiness while aboard AI 186 on Friday night.
The flight, which had a scheduled stopover in Kolkata, was diverted to the city after the cabin crew alerted the pilot. Singh was deboarded around 9:15 pm and rushed to RG Kar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to media reports, the man was having trouble breathing and complained of chest pains. The body has been sent for post-mortem at the hospital, and will be handed over to the family.
