PARMA, Ohio — On Friday night, as has been the case all postseason long, St. Edward made a fantastic offense look … unremarkable.
In round two, the Eagles held Berea-Midpark to 14 points, in round three, they held Toledo Whitmer to 6, and this week they held Mentor to only 7. It was a Cardinals team that averaged over 40 points a game.
St. Edward won the game 27-7, its fifth regional championship in a row , and will advance to the state semifinals to play Olentangy Orange next Friday.
Offensively, Mentor was without star running back Jackson Farley due to injury. But St. Edward head coach Tom Lombardo pointed out that the Eagles had injuries too. When addressing his team postgame, he praised them for being able to win in any condition.
